Oh what a tangled web we weave when we start removing body parts...
Mom's incision is having trouble healing and she's had to endure some extra attention from the wound clinic. That's right, there's a whole clinic just for wounds. (Who knew these places existed? I thought they were called "Haunted Houses".) Mom is starting to see the wisdom in having most of her insides removed. It keeps them from falling out now that the incision doesn't want to close. Rachel, her loving daughter, has been doing her best Florence Nightingale impression with daily gauze packing (bear with me people, it could get ugly here) while trying not to aggravate the incision any further. Although Rachel is exhibiting some "mad skillz", she is wishing she spent more of her childhood playing the game "Operation." Dad is trying to be supportive, but without a medical degree, he feels a bit lacking. He has been doing his best to keep Mom's spirits up and act as chauffeur to the many doctor's appointments. Mom and Dad wish to express their gratitude to the fabulous ward members who have kept them knee deep in chicken-al-a-*fill-in-the-blank* and to their many fans who continue to send prayers their way.
