I know it has been a while but there really is a good reason for taking so long to post. We were blessed to have four of our children come and visit for a week. Debbie, Michelle, Tim and Rachel. Last month our other daughter Kimberly and her husband Todd spent some time with us also. We were so grateful to show all of them the Netherlands the way we saw it almost 60 years ago while we were both living here. We found neighborhoods that were our stomping grounds and the houses we called home. They were able to experience the real country side, not only the tourist attractions that most people visit but the real earth and rain along with the narrow roads and bike paths.
We introduced them to some of our friends here so that they could see what fantastic children we really have waiting back home. We only wish that all of the grandchildren could have come but that would have taken a whole plane full and our apartment is just not big enough to handle a huge crowd.
We are grateful for our heritage but we are even more grateful to our parents for bringing us to the U.S.
Raising a family here in the Netherlands is very difficult for members of the church. Not many young folk to choose from and take to the Temple to be sealed for all time and all eternity. Maybe that is why the young adults here try to hitch up with the missionaries. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
