So this is June?

It's hard to believe that we are in June and I am freezing my tootsies off. I have gotten very frustrated with the rain and hail around here. For the first time in my whole life my flowers are prettier than the neighbors and what happens? Yup! rain that does not stop and to make it a little tougher, the hail started pelting my Geraniums. Bruised blooms just does not do it for me.
It was a good thing that we have underground parking for the car or the huge hail stones would have done a lot of damage. We heard about cars being damaged all over town, and with the wind sending everything sideways, many large trees were uprooted. One tree fell right through a sky light of a home but no one was hurt.

I have always loved rain and I probably always will but I have never needed to worry about the flowers before. Last week I woke at about three in the morning and could see all this light outside our bedroom window and I could hear rumbling in the sky. Looking out was a scene I had never experienced and almost unbelievable. The lightning strikes were continues, and not a second in between. When I was little my mother told me that thunder was just angels moving furniture in heaven, but they must have been moving everything in heaven that was not nailed down. All of this did not stop for about an hour. There were thousands and thousands of lightning strikes recorded by the weather dept. and people the next day were all commenting that they had never seen such a firework display before. One little fellow in the ward came into his mom's bedroom and asked if it was the end of the world. It was actually light enough that I could probably have read a book while this was going on without turning on a light.

I have to remember that we are just as far north as Calgary, Canada and to top it off, we are right near the coast, so tons of rain and only a few hours in the middle of the night that the sky is dark. We go to bed and wake up while it is still light.

I love the rain! I may start loving the thunder too, now that I know what causes it. I love you and your blog! Thanks for sharing. :)
