Tender Mercies

It has been some time since I have had a chance to write on the blog and now might be a good time.  When I look back over the last few weeks I can't help but realize that the Lord has really been watching over us.

We had a wonderful time with our daughter Kimberly and her husband while they came to visit and there were so so many times when we would have been too busy to spend time with them but circumstances changed so that we were not really needed here as much. Our Young adults planned a trip to France during their spring break so we did not have to cook for three different events for them.  Even our Elders did not have a District meeting during that time so there was no need to prepare a meal for them either. (Tender Mercies) The day Kim left the cooking started up again and we got right back into the swing of things. Even the people in the branch took a break from needing us for any emergency problems.

We were also blessed by having Kim (my organization queen) help in getting two apartments almost ready for new missionaries.  It was fun to shop for them and  find what we needed and most of what was on our list just fell into our laps.  Tender mercies and blessings all around.  We are spending mission money and we were very careful to look for every bargain we could while still making the apartments comfortable and cheery. Our mission is planning on finding and stocking 33 apartments by September 3rd to house the new missionaries coming so we will all be hopping. We will still be busy with our other duties but this is an extra bonus chance to serve.

There is so much that is required before an apartment can be occupied here in Europe. Flooring,  lights, window coverings and even towel bars in the bathroom are removed by the previous renter unless you want to purchase them from him.  The mission has been blessed so far by finding places with floors already in place so that we did not have to install the laminates. I do wish Kim could have stayed to help Ben with the installation of all the lights and appliances but we were able to find a member with a ladder to help him.

The Lord needs the work to progress here and he is making it possible for us to do what is needed to get these great young warriors here and  in helping them in doing what they are called to do which is to bring people to Christ.  Nothing is more important in the lives of those that are truly seeking the truth and looking for the opportunity to make Temple covenants to bind families together  for the Eternities. We are really blessed to be a witness to all these miracles and "Tender Mercies"

Mom and dad, Thanks for letting me be such a great part of your mission. I felt like I was on my own "mini-mission". It was so wonderful to meet all the people in the miracle stories we've heard about. I felt so blessed to be able to spend so much time with you and had a great time finding stuff for the apartments. I am so grateful the Lord blessed you both to be able to go back and serve. It makes it a little easier to have you gone now that I have been there and seen your impact on these precious lives. I would have loved to stay til the end of your mission to help you but we would have had to move my whole family out there and dad would have to drive us all--because I could never drive there. Thanks again! Continue your hard work and the tender mercies will continue to flow. Love you both so much!
