Be careful what you ask for

I should know better than to voice my wishes. Last night it actually started snowing and it has snowed ever since. We were able to postpone our visits today and a couple of the Elders actually made it to our apartment for dinner by walking from the train station. They ended up walking back also because it is just too much of a frozen mess for us to drive them. We just heard that there were 666 kilometers of traffic jams throughout the Netherlands today. No kidding they said 666. Snow dunes everywhere because of the tremendous winds. No bus was allowed on the roads today and they are not planning on running tomorrow either. It took a member an hour and a half to drive from the train station to home which is about a mile away. We were to meet at the church building tomorrow night to go caroling and visiting the homebound members of the branch but we just got the notice that it has been called off. They are even thinking of canceling church Sunday. Life has actually come to a screeching halt here because they have no snow removal equipment to clear the fluffy white stuff. We can see people walking their bikes along the road below us because it is almost impossible to make any headway riding them. I heard from someone here that the global warming conference being held in Copenhagen has been hit with a blizzard after not having snow for fourteen years. I'm going to stop asking for things from now on.
