Home sweet home

These barges have to stand in line just to get through the narrow passage way where the bridge opens and lets them come through. We have to cross the bridge to get to our building.

If you look closely to the right just above the trees you can see the bridge that's open. There is a bike path that runs along the water that we will have to try out when the weather gets a little warmer.  We actually have bikes to ride (I will probably crash like I did on our first mission but oh well, no pain no gain right?)

We can see our building from miles around.

We live on the 8th floor and really enjoy watching the boats go by all day. It has really been interesting to see just how much some of these big vessels can hold. In the evening when the bridge closes for the day we usually have three or four big barges tied to the side of the bank ready to spend the night.  We have been able to watch the families who live on board getting ready for dinner and bedtime.
