Missionary Training Center

Well we made it here.  We are a bit older and wiser now than we were the first time we entered this great place so we both decided not to stress as much this time because it doesn't help anyway.  The young instructors are so enthusiastic and it really reminded  us of being out in the field again.  One fun thing happen that made it even better.  Elder Caleb Lystrup  who was one of our favorite Elders in the Netherlands is now one of our teachers here.  It was so good to see how this young man has grown spiritually and also in confidence.

There are 39 couples in our group of seniors and most of them are going to be serving in the U.S. One couple is going to Denmark, another to Australia, three are heading to Africa, one to Poland, another to Rome, and even one to the Netherlands, oh wait, that's us isn't it?  We  have people telling us that they wished they could also leave the country so we feel pretty blessed especially since we will hopefully be able to see some of our relatives who are quickly dying off so this may be our last chance to visit with them.

I have to admit that by the time we head back to our room in the evening we are totally worn out  both physically and mentally. We are really looking forward to heading out and putting into practice all the new ideas we have been taught.  Hopefully our old brains will retain some of  what has been pumped into them.  We will try to keep you all up to date but we may not have Internet service the first week or ten days in our new apartment.

We were reminded that "Our actions may be the only bible people read" so we will have to remember to always  be aware of how we behave in front of the rest of the world.  The elections have really brought the church in the spotlight and hopefully all of us will show Christlike qualities.
