This morning bright and early (7:00 A.M.) we met with the Stake Presidency and the High Counsel. Just returning from serving in Ontario was a couple reporting on their mission. They enjoyed it and kept very busy. Also returning was a young missionary who went to Texas. He and his family had emigrated out of South Africa and immigrated into the U.S. when he was 15 years old.
(something I learned not long ago is: you "emigrate" out of a country, and you "immigrate" into another country)
Ben and I were both asked to bear our testimonies. It felt like we had actually "started" our way on this journey. I'm sure we will be asked many times over in the next 2 years to do that very same thing. We will both have to learn to think on our feet, something we have all experienced by just being in different callings in the church over the years. The church is really great that way. Children learn from a very early age to stand in front of people and speak or pray, preparing them for what ever they may face in the future. (Just 3 more weeks and we're off to the MTC!!!!!!!!!!)
