Christmas in Belgie 2008

We spent Christmas day with the Sherlock family and they made us feel very welcome in their home. Jessica got a biker chick outfit so she would be warm on the back of her Dad's motorcycle and just had to show it off. Turkey here is very expensive and does not fit in most peoples budget so they bought our Christmas bird in England when they visited there last month. This is the first turkey I have eaten that was wrapped in bacon. It smelled great but it sure made for some greasy gravy.

Second Christmas day is always celebrated here in Europe. It is the day most people go and visit family and friends. We were invited to the Van Geisel family and the dad stopped off at the local bakery for pastries. It was really hard to choose which one to eat. We had a choice of Chocolate, Chocolate, or Chocolate or just a rich marzipan dessert cake with fruit on top. If people don't stop feeding us all these goodies we will have to book passage on a tanker to get home. I'm sure a jet would not be able to take off with us on board. Even climbing stairs everyday is not going to make up for all of these goodies. I will probably become diabetic before long. Gastric bypass is the trend here in Belgie and I may have to resort to that, or else wire my mouth shut.
