Shilpa the missionary
Shilpa the woman from India was baptized a while ago and let me tell you, she was not about to let grass grow under her feet. She told us that she had told her mother about her conversion and baptism and that mom should find the missionaries. We showed her on the web how we could find the chapel in India where her mother could go. Her mother went there faithfully each week to receive the lessons from the Elders. Sunday during Relief Society Shilpa's phone rang. She of course got some harsh Belgium looks but took the phone out into the hall. When she came back in she was beaming. After the meeting she ran up to me and told me that the call she had just received was from her mom. Her mom had just then been baptized and called to share the good news. Shilpa could not stop smiling. She told me that the rest of her family is bound to be baptized also. In just this short time she has been sharing the gospel with family and friends and she has come out of her shell faster than I have ever seen anyone do. Her Dutch language skills are improving everyday and I'm sure she will find a job in no time. Now if we can just find a way to help her with her son Shlok before there is no hope left for him. We may just have to get him a straight jacket.
