Leopold's family

Across the street from Sandra lives a Romanian family, Leopold, Florica and their daughter Florina who is a very smart little girl and has just amazed us with her eagerness to learn. She really wants to be baptized. The mother was actually Baptized when she was young and we are trying to locate her records. Leopold will not be baptized because he and Florina are not married and would probably be better off financially if they stay that way. Florina can collect welfare as long as she is single. (Oh the wisdom of the Belgium government. They have got to run out of money some day)

Every inch of their apartment is covered with "stuff" Classical music, DVD''s and tons of things from Egypt. They have never visited there but are very interested in the "Culture" as the dad puts it. Florica's sister is visiting here from Romania (she is the one with the scarf on her head) asked us right away if we could get her a visa to come to the states, or maybe our church would. She did not believe us when we said no.

Last week when the Elders went to visit them with John, they walked into the apartment building and just inside the front door was a group of men "shooting up" and I don't mean fireworks. The Elders warned us to be prepared for anything. We were O.K. last night.
