WWII Museum

Friday we drove to Dordrecht in The Netherlands to visit with another senior couple who are serving there. They took us for a tour of Dordrecht and the points of interest there. We stopped at the WWII museum for a tour. Many of the things both of our parents told us about finally had a visual to go along with the story.

1. Glass land mines that could not be detected with a metal detector.

2. Food dropped by the Americans to feed the hungry after the war ended.

3. Baby buggy and bikes the women used to transport weapons to the underground.

4. Coffee can stove Ben's parents used for years when there was no fuel or electricity.

5. Pressed paper and wooden shoes that could only be worn on dry days.

6. Red sand buckets kept in each home in case a fire bomb was dropped (water would not do the
trick)
