A stroll down the lane
We do a lot of driving and that gives us a chance to see some more of this beautiful country. We visit many of our members and also go and inspect the Elder's apartments every so often. Those young boys might not like us checking up on them but that is one of our jobs here in the mission. We do give them at least a weeks notice to get their places in order before we show up. They are required to spend one hour each Monday ("P" day) cleaning which is a fantastic idea all around. (I'm not sure they are following that rule however)
It is sometimes easier to walk through the small villages than it is to drive down the narrow streets. We can get a better feel for the place and even stop and buy some snoep (candy) or any other treat along the way. I think this family wanted to save the patrons a few steps by just opening the front window instead of making them step inside.
Red mail drop boxes can be found all over the place and I don't think the design has changed since we were little.
The Dutch love flowers and they can be found everywhere. Even if there is no front yard they make sure that there are still some blooming outside their homes.
