Lyudmila is doing better!!
The members in our branch are spread all over Friesland so we travel great distances sometimes to visit them.We drove more than a hour to see my dear friend Lyudmila. She is a fantastic woman and I have great admiration for her. While we were here on our first mission she was kidnapped but able to escape five days later. It was a horrible ordeal but this courageous gal is making the best of the situation and trying to make every day life beautiful and peaceful for her family. She and her husband came from Russia years ago and her three children were born here in the Netherlands. They have tried hard to make a go of life here but it has been very difficult for them but now that they were able to move to a new place of their own thing are looking up.
This cute bridge is a typical scene here and I love watching the draw bridges raised for the small boats that need to pass through. It is possible to cross the bridge but only one car at a time and only when the bikers are not pushing their way through first. Bikers and pedestrians do have the right away and they let you know that.
Lyudmila's children are enjoying the new years treats that were left over in the fridge and their Mom will be glad when all of the sugary junk is finally gone. She tries very hard to cook nutritious meals for them so naturally they love sneaking in a treat.
Leading up to Lyudmila's street we got a nice view of this quiet street. I love all these little villages along our travels.
