We found the church where my dad was Branch President in Rotterdam Zuid and where Ben and I were both baptized, it no longer belongs to the church. Now another congregation meets there.
We just had to drive around and see the old stomping grounds. The House we lived in when we lived together ( I was 4 and Ben was 10) is still around. We all lived in the bottom apartment that is partially under the street. We shared 3 rooms. Ben's family had the front two rooms and we had the back room. We also shared the tiny kitchen and toilet. We would go down the street to the bath house to bathe. Funny how the whole world looks soooo big when we are young and when we go back it seems so have shrunk, probably from all the rain.
The pond where Ben used to skate and the harbor where he used to fish for hours (but never caught anything) where he and his friends would swim and dare each other to jump off the "ophaal brug" (drawbridge) was really fun to see.
