We started off pretty early this morning for Zoetemeer (near The Hague) Nederland for a day at the temple, yes a whole day. The temple is only 90 km. from here so not a bad ride when the weather is nice. I think this is the first time we have ever spent that much time in one day doing temple work. It was great. Even some of our new members were able to be part of it.
Ben ran into a Br. Van Rij whose father was one of the missionaries who taught him and his parents before they joined the church. Then we met Sis. De Vin/Nijssen who remembered my father and we were able to share stories about some of the members who went to America that were all part of the Rotterdam branch where my Dad was Pres. Talk about a small world.
It is a small temple but very pretty and peaceful, and in such a nice area of the country. The members are so happy to have a temple so close. They used to have to go to either London, Switzerland or Germany before this one was built.

That is so cool! I bet you will find many more throughout your mission that are from your past. So happy you got to go to Holland / Belgium instead of California--although it is a little harder to visit you.
I love your stories. How lucky for you that you get to go to the temple on your mission. It's two of the most absolute ways to be close to the Lord, then to compound them like that?!! Good for you!
