The sidewalks across the canal are being redone. We find very few blacktop roads (other than highways) because everywhere we drive we see bricks, stepping stones or cobble stones. It is much easier to replace and the water just drains down between them. With as much rain as there is here it really is a great way to handle the water. It is not always a smooth ride but it keeps you from falling asleep. When ever they get uneven they just scoop up the old ones, spread out more sand, level and relay the same stones. They pound it down with a rubber hammer and done. ( I would love to borrow the hammer and use it on a few stubborn people here just to level them out)
I could watch them working all day, just don't ask me to do the job.
