I would love for you to meet Lyudmila. She and her family are from Siberia. They have an 18 year old son who is now on his own and three small children and they are all trying to learn the Dutch language. She is very talented as you can see by her carvings. She also knits beautifully. She has tried some painting and so we will probably get together to work on a project. I would love for her to teach me more about carving wood. They are waiting for legalization but it does not look like it will happen. They have appealed several times and keep getting turned down. He works illegally to try to support his family repairing motorcycles. She would be active if she could talk him into bringing her to church on Sundays but he is very less-active. They would probably be happier back in Siberia where she could sell her artwork but he wants to stay here. This can not go on forever however because they will have to leave eventually when the immigration people catch up with them. They live in a campground about 25 kilometers from Leeuwarden in a beautiful part of the country but very much isolated from the rest of the world making her very lonely.
