Can we please take them home?

We visited with the Oudman Jr. family this afternoon and we did not want to leave without the twins. It was so much fun just to be holding babies again. We really miss seeing children all over the place like we do in Utah. Children are not as popular in Europe because everything else seems to take priority. We see people walking dogs all the time but very few baby strollers. Of course you can leave a dog home by himself but babies take a little more care. Although one family we know here take their dog to grandma's house on Sundays so they can go to church. They were in-active for a while because the dog was lonely being home alone. Thankfully he finally got used to grandma. He even comes along on shopping trips because dogs are allowed in stores.

The Oudmans are a cute family but have had a difficult time coming to church because life as just kind of gotten out of control. The twins are a hand full and mom had some medical problems in the last few weeks. She has also had to deal with her mother in Serbia who just recently died. Dad is working on his masters degree and working part time. He was born in Serbia as well. His mother is Serbian but his father is Dutch. His English is good because the missionaries lived in his home much of the time when he was growing up here in Holland. They are thinking of maybe moving to the states once he gets his degree because they can not handle the government taking so much of his income to cover all the social programs here. They also feel it would be a better place to raise a family because of the immoral environment here. Drugs are legal and plentiful here and you can actually go to a cafe and order them from the menu. Prostitution is also legal as well. Most families do not feel safe having their children watching T.V. past 7 P.M. because of the adult contents even in commercials

So tell me, are we heading in the same direction in the states? I sure hope not. I'm also not ready to have euthanasia practiced the way it is here. My grandmother was "put to sleep" as well as my aunt and uncle when life became a burden to others.
