This little church in the tiny village of Jannum was built in the 13th century and has two attached parts. One part was intended for the lay brothers of the monastery and the other part was for the clergy. It has a large collection of sarcophagi, stone coffins and lids both inside as well as outside. The oldest pieces in the collection date from the 12th century. The hanging bell tower on the west side of the church had a bell until in 1489 a clock replaced the bell.
I can't believe these old buildings are still standing. We ran into this one on our way from one visit to another. We now have our car trained to stop at all old churches.
