Not enough salt to help thaw the snow.

We really had a picture postcard drive on our way to make a few visits yesterday. Bro. and Sis. Oppermann were very excited to see us because they were housebound per doctors orders and they needed some groceries. We just "happened" to call them and see if we could stop by. This cute couple would never have called us because they don't want to bother anyone but they were sure grateful we decided to check on them. Actually we were close to their little village because we were visiting Sis. Eisenga our oldest branch member who lives in a care center. We are the only ones who visit her so we just could not stay home even with all the slick roads.

Church was canceled today because of the storm and it just did not feel like Sunday. Even though not much snow came down, there was enough wind to look like a blizzard. Snow blowing in every direction so visibility was pretty bad. We actually live close enough to church that it would not have been a problem for us but most of the rest of the branch live in small towns with even smaller and slicker roads so it would not have been safe for them to drive. It gets a little scary driving along roads that seem more like bike paths especially with a canal running along side. The canals are starting to freeze up as you can tell by the picture but I don't think they could hold a car that slid off the path.
