Siberian delight

We spent the day with Lyudmila's children so she could go to some appointments. She is still getting psychological counseling and their legal adviser is still trying to get the government to let them stay here and become legal citizens. I can't imagine living under the pressure that they have to endure each day. It was really such a delight to spend time with the children, especially after the fiasco on Sunday with the other children at church. They are so well behaved you can tell the mother spends time with them. They live in very humble circumstances yet the mobile home is very clean. Lyudimila really tries to make home a pleasant place to be. She does not seem quite as frightened as before but they still need to get away from here to be and feel safer.

Note: Lyudmila does not need to have the autism label put on her children because her family is not on monthly public assistance. Besides, the children are well behaved and are even doing well in school in spite of the fact that they only speak Russian at home and the whole family is going through a major catastrophe right now.

Glad to hear you are able to see your friend again and that her life is a little better. You thought you would go on your mission and not have to babysit anymore--silly girl. You will always be a great babysitter!
