No use hiding, they will find you anyway

We knew this would probably happen but we did dodge the bullet at least for a little while.  We both got callings in the branch this week.  Ben will be the counselor to our branch Pres. and I was called as the new Relief Society Pres.  We have both been ready to serve in any way we could in the branch and now we know what we will be doing. We will still be very involved with the Jo Vos (Young Adults)  but this is on top of that.  I just hope we will be able to have the energy to do it all.

We had a unique experience this morning.  Mary Ann a  beautiful woman from Nigeria came to church with her baby and left her coat and baby stroller in the lobby of the building while coming into the meetings.  During Relief Society she went out to change the baby and discovered that her wallet was missing.  She had forgotten and left it in her coat pocket.  She was frantic and everyone was asked to search for the wallet that had not only money but her legalization card inside.  Loosing that card means spending time and 1000 Euros to replace and she does not have that kind of money.  After searching throughout the building the wallet could not be found and we all went back into Relief Society to finish the lesson and  to wait for the Police to show up.  In the closing prayer the sweet sister who gave the prayer asked for a special blessing to comfort Mary Ann and for the person who stole the wallet to return it. After the meeting ended we all went out into the lobby and Mary Ann walked by two chairs where we had all searched before and found her wallet tucked just between the arms of two chairs.  That wallet was not there when we all searched.  She only shows up to church once in a while because her Dutch is not that good but she was convinced that this was a sign for her to be there every week and that prayers are truly answered.  She had borne her testimony earlier and mentioned that she knew that the Lord loved her and that he is aware of her and her trials.  She mentioned while leaving the building that she was convinced more than ever that she is truly loved.

Lyudmila my Russian friend was not in church this morning and when I spoke to her on the phone she told me that she had a bad case of the flu.  I hope she will be able to get an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow because she really sounded bad.  She insisted that I not come over for fear of catching it.  I may not be let in but I do think that the least I can do is to hand her a dinner at the door without coming into the house.  I was able to get a picture with Lyudmila  the first time we came to church and I think she looks fantastic.  She is more confident and more sure of herself.  I am so proud of her.
